Fine Arts

The fine arts programs at LCS are where many of our students find purpose, develop talent, and discover passion all while having a blast with classmates. Below are just some of the LCS fine arts offerings.

Choir - All K-5th grade students participate in a weekly choir class and perform in our elementary music programs multiple times per year. 6th-12th grade students may choose choir as an elective and further develop their vocal talents. Students are taught to read music, harmonize, and other music theory and techniques. Choirs at the upper school level have multiple opportunities to perform in concert and compete in TAPPS competitions. Choir is also offered after-school for an additional fee for elementary and junior high students looking for opportunities for improvement.

Band - Beginning in 6th grade, students may choose band as an elective through their high school years. Our band director is a skilled musician and teacher, capable of teaching beginners to play any instrument. Our band concerts are always a highlight of the Christmas season and at the end of the year.

Art - All elementary students take a weekly art class where a variety of techniques are explored through various projects. Upper school students have the opportunity to take art as an elective.

Photography/Media - This upper school elective is always a favorite among the students. They learn many different skills and techniques and showcase their talents at our twice-annual Celebration of the Arts.

Theater - The theater department at LCS has a history of strong performances and incredible talent. The upper school theater classes teach skills and theory while providing opportunities for students to practice and hone their craft. The annual musical showcase is always a delightful display of LCS talent. The spring theater production never fails to impress. Recent performances include Beauty and the Beast, Seussical the Musical, Little Women, and Into the Woods.
